About Retrospective

"Retrospective takes you back to days gone by. To a time when cars were pink and rock ‘n roll was born.  We aim to bring back the sparkle of an era where the hop was the place to be on a Friday night and things worked like they were supposed too."

Retrospective carries a range of recreated fashion inspired by the 1940, 1950’s and early 60s; Ladies and Men’s clothing & accessories, Hair and Beauty products and homeware classified as vintage, retro, vintage reproduction and Rockabilly & Pin Up.

Our story goes back to 2008 when we designed & manufactured our first clothing brand, Miss Happ in Cape Town which we launched in Janurary 2009. In 2010 we Launched our Men's range and in 2015 we showcased our range at Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Fastival fashion show (USA). A major ackomplishment for a brand from South Africa! To date we have sold our products around the world from America and Canada to Europe and Australia.

In 2014 our first store in Pretoria opened, followed by a second store in Johannesburg a year later. In 2016 we merged Miss Happ (the brand and store) with the Retrospective stores and opened Retrospective Cape Town in Long Street. Today, we operate from our warehouse and factory in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa.
